Ashy lips don’t live here and never have. Regardless of the time of day and place, we may have 3-4 lip products on hand. Lip care is a ritual and requires more than the occasional application of Original ChapStick Cherry. Here are our favorite lip care products and a routine to keep your lips kissable.
Lip Care Holy Grails
01
Lush | Lip Scrub: Honey
$13
Lush’s sugary-sweet exfoliating lip scrubs are a household favorite. Their Honey scrub, made with Jojoba oil and Castor sugar, gently removes dead skin from the lips’ surface, leaving them smooth and hydrated. Use before or after brushing your teeth. Gently scrub to prevent scraping. Lush’s glass jars are recyclable, and if you happen to eat a grain of sugar or two, lick that sh*t up. It’s safe.
02
Laniege | Lip Sleeping Mask
$22
Laneige’s Sleeping Mask is a must-have. Its silky texture bonds to the lips for quick absorption, reducing dryness and flakiness while sleeping. Rich in hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, and antioxidants, Laneige creates a protective layer over the lips and locks in moisture to nourish and soften the lips. Apply a generous amount to clean lips and leave overnight.
03
Summer Fridays | Lip Butter Balm
$22
Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm is the sh*t. It feels like sex on the lips. A little goes a long way. It’s made with ultra-hydrating seed butters and vegan wax, which leaves a natural shine that is never-greasy, conditioning the lips to maintain moisture long-term. Apply whenever, wherever.
04
Glossier | Balm Dotcom
$12
Balm Dotcom is the final touch and a DL favorite. If we can’t find one, there’s another laying around. Depending on the flavor/color, it boosts the shade of your lips. Our go-to is Berry for its flexibility, whether you have a light or dark lip complexion, it adds a sheer tint. It’s formulated with heavy-duty moisturizers, so it is thicker than Summer Fridays; however, it still gives a greaseless look. If you’re not feeling gloss or lipstick, go Dotcom.
