DEON LIBRA’s monthly Beauty Edit consists of new beauty products we’ve tried this month and some of our favorite tried-and-true repurchases. These beauty gems are sectioned into 5 main categories: Skincare, Body, Fragrance, Hair, and Makeup.
Fall is in full swing. Like, literally overnight. We don’t know about you, but our bodies are definitely feeling it. From our skin to our scalps, the need to change how we care for every inch of our vessels is indeed urgent. Last month, Summer beauty hacks were still effective, but Autumn weather ain’t having it. This month, we’ve been layering oils and moisturizers, reaching for cozy fall fragrances, and giving our scalps some extra TLC.
Peep below for the products that are aiding in our beauty transition:
Skincare
01
Dr. Dennis Gross | Alpha Beta® Extra Strength Daily Peel
$17-$150
If your skin is prone to acting a damn fool as the seasons transition, get these. This two-step, pad system contains a dose of 7 potent acids, vitamins, and antioxidants that help reduce the look of fine lines, acne scars, pores, and excess oil. Honestly, these work better than the chemical peel I had a few months ago, and I only use them 2-3 times a week.
02
Drunk Elephant | F-Balm™ Electrolyte Waterfacial
$52
Cooler weather brings thirsty skin. Like, super thirsty. Drunk Elephant’s F-Balm™ Electrolyte Waterfacial overnight mask rehydrates parched skin and protects the skin’s acid mantle with skin barrier-loving ingredients, such as niacinamide,
plant squalane, ceramides, and omega fatty acids. Used as the last step in our night routine, this skin “sealer” gives us soft, supple skin every time.
Top Secret: On the nights you incorporate the Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta® Extra Strength Daily Peel in your routine, apply this overnight mask after your moisturizer. You’ll be kissing the mirror in the morning!
03
Caudalie | Beauty Elixir Face Mist
$18-$49
Face mist is THAT girl, regardless of the season. Caudalie’s Beauty Elixir is a cult-favorite, versatile skin mist that improves the skin’s radiance, while visibly smoothing the appearance of pores. The ultra-fine mist’s refreshing plant extracts gently tingle the skin, while the natural aroma soothes the senses.
Top Secret: Spray the inside of your face mask to aid in preventing maskne.
Body
04
Topicals | Faded Brightening & Clearing Mist
$30
Topicals Faded Brightening & Clearing Mist is basically magic in a bottle. The body acne is stubborn over here, so you can only imagine how the hyperpigmentation behaves. A simple, light mist after your shower and you’ll be watching your dark spots and scars fade like smoke.
05
Lush | Repeat Foot Balm
$15
This orange-scented, restorative foot balm is the master of softening up dry heels and cracked feet. Repeat melts in your palms, making application just as smooth as the balm will make your feet. It’s getting cooler and drier, and crusty anything ain’t cute. Just get it!
06
Nature of Things | Superlative Body Balm
$75
This tingly body balm is our secret weapon for aches and pains. Made with a potent botanical blend of menthol, arnica, ginger, turmeric and boswellia, Superlative Body Balm prevents inflammation, relieves pain and swelling, and aids in beating headaches. It’s a star and we can’t live without it (especially surviving WFH life and seasonal depression).
Fragrance
07
Clean Beauty Collective | Reserve — Warm Cotton
$98
We’re not going to deny our obsession with the scent of fresh laundry. On the cold, dreary days, when you’re reminiscing about brighter, warmer Saturday mornings, reach for this. Warm Cotton is equal parts warmth, love, and nostalgia.
08
Commodity | Velvet [Expressive]
$125
Nothing is more moody, cozy, sophisticated, and intoxicating than Commodity’s Velvet. This fragrance is the definition of cozy fall vibes and “I need my blanket now.” Blended with notes of amber, white birch, coconut water, and roasted almonds, Velvet [Expressive] is the center of Commodity’s Velvet Scent Space and the OG formula of the 3 intensities.
09
Lush | Twilight Body Spray
$35
Lush describes Twilight as a lullaby in a bottle, and they are absolutely right. We use this devine lavender-tonka body spray as a bedtime fragrance (layered on top of vanilla oil) and a linen spray to help us wind down before we knock out for the night. It works wonders!
Hair
10
Fable & Mane | HoliRoots Hair Oil
$16-$49
An adaptogenic hair and scalp oil? You know we are fans! HoliRoots hair oil is formulated with hair-strengthening Ashwagandha, encouraging growth and improved scalp resilience. Brit uses this adaptogenic scalp treatment twice a week as a leave-in treatment for scalp relief, and it’s the ultimate fix.
11
Bread Beauty Supply | Scalp-Serum
$28
Cold weather is not your scalp’s bestie, but it does not have to be the end of your healthy scalp either. Bread Beauty Supply’s Scalp-serum cooling and exfoliating effects soothe scalp discomfort, while its gentle acid removes buildup simultaneously. We’re not doing 2 seasons of cold weather with an irritated scalp, boo.
Makeup
13
iNNBEAUTY PROJECT | Glaze #1 Lip Oil
$15
This naturally colored and flavored lip oil is vegan, non-sticky, and delicious (not that we eat it or anything)! Glaze #1 makes your pout irresistibly juicy, while nourishing your lips with natural red root oil and plumping with iNNBEAUTY’s plant-based plumping complex. Soft, glossy, perfectly tinted lips will forever be the result you’ll end up with.
14
Vie Beauty | 30Roses Hydrating Rose Water
$36
30Roses Hydrating Rose Water is the key to hydrated, balanced skin, perfectly set makeup, and more. This anti-inflammatory, anti-aging, anti-microbial face mist is packed with natural antioxidants to combat a plethora of skin concerns, but has easily become our favorite setting spray for a beat face that looks like skin.
15
Merit Beauty | Flush Balm
$28
Cheek tints are clearly superior to powder blush. There, we said it. Merit Beauty’s Flush Balm is super creamy and buildable, enabling you to create the perfect flushed look and control the intensity and visibility of the color deposit.
Top Secret: Blend a tiny bit on the bridge of your nose for the perfect “I was outside, in the cold, too damn long” look.
